Made at the Kalamazoo factory over 100 years ago

The L-3, introduced in 1903, was a mid-priced small-body size guitar in the lineup at the time. Gibson was still making banjos and mandolins as its main products in the early 1900s, and the Gibson Style U HarpGuitar was often used as a guitar. It has a very small body but can play loudly. It has a wild sound typical of Gibson. The thickness of the neck is quite thick, 3cm near the 1st fret and 4.5cm near the 13th fret (this model has a 13th fret joint). The body width is 13 3/4 cm.
The body is 13 3/4" wide, with a veneer adirondack spruce top, birch (birch wood) sides and bags, a 13-fret-jointed mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and pearl dots for position marks. Position marks. Single binding on the body and neck. The headstock is decorated with "the Gibson" inlay and floral motif. Waverly open back tuners. Original tailpiece ("Patented July 19, 1910" is engraved), ivoroid rosette with herringbone, red sunburst finish with original varnish, and other original parts from over 100 years ago make this a rare guitar. The guitar is in excellent condition considering its age.

Considering the age of the guitar, it can be said that it has been maintained in beautiful condition. The red sunburst has not lost any color, but there is some overall wear. There are some bumps on the binding of the body, but they do not detract from the appearance. The position marks on the frets are partially missing and have been repaired to fill the gaps. The top and bag show some dings and paint peeling, the most noticeable being on the body end on the top sixth string side, where the paint is peeling along the binding. The binding on the first string side was missing, but it has been replaced by the same ivoroid binding by our affiliated repair store so as not to spoil the appearance, and the paint has been applied without any discomfort. The celluloid pickguard and tailpiece are prone to disintegration and have often been removed or replaced with other parts, but the original parts are still present. However, this part is not covered by the warranty. Please note that this part is not covered by warranty.
There is an 8cm crack repair mark on the side of the fingerboard on the first string side of the top. Also, there is a 3cm crack repair mark at the neck of the body side on the sixth string side. The back of the neck has been refinished, but we believe this repair is necessary to maintain the condition. The pegs on the 6th and 6th strings are slightly distorted, but this is not a problem in use. The tuners have been disassembled to check the contents, but there are holes in the body of the first and sixth strings that are not screw holes, so the details are unknown. The tuners are probably the same Waverly tuners made around 1910. The bridge has also been turned over and checked, but there are traces of white numbers with about 4 letters written on them, but the details are unknown. There is a slight top drop on the bridge side of the body top, but it does not affect the playability. The bridge is slightly forward due to distortion caused by age-related deterioration. The neck is twisted, but has been set up in a playable condition. The neck has been refretted and is approximately 80% high. The truss rod is not present as it is not yet mounted. There are some scratches, dents, and weather checks, but the sound and playability are perfect.
