This wood body (maple) model was produced only with a square neck between 1976 and 1994. Featuring spider cones, screen holes, slotted heads, and poinsettia tailpiece. Without the back binding and sound hole at the end of the neck, it is positioned as a lower-priced version of the Model 60. It is a good cost-performance instrument with a sound similar to the higher end models.
There are some dents, scratches, and tarnish on metal parts, but nothing significant. The center seam of the back has some paint bumps and cracks due to age, and weather checks are faintly visible when reflected in a light source. These are commensurate with the age of the instrument. The nut has been replaced with a slightly higher one made of ox bone. There is a chip on the fingerboard, but it does not affect the practical use. There is a mark on the back of the head that looks like a sticker was attached. Since the hard case that came with the instrument has a Kawase Instruments plate on it, the head may have had a sticker from the same store attached to it. The case is genuine, but unfortunately the exterior is severely damaged.
It has a rustic, dobro-like sound that is different from the sophisticated resonator guitars of recent builder's products. The tone matches the Josh Graves style or the American singer/songwriter sound of the 70s. The price is very affordable. A good choice for beginners to bluegrass dobro.

1976年から1994年の間に生産されたスクエア・ネックのみ生産されたウッド・ボディ(メイプル)のモデルです。スパイダー・コーン、スクリーン・ホール、スロッテド・ヘッド、ポインセチア・テールピースをフィーチャー。バックのバインディングとネック・エンド部のサウンド・ホールはなく、モデル60の廉価版的な位置づけと言えましょう。上位機種譲りのサウンドでコスト・パフォーマンスの良い製品です。
打痕、引っ掻き傷、金属部品のくすみが確認できますが、目立つダメージではありません。バックのセンター・シーム部に経年による塗膜の段差、亀裂が発生しているほか、光源に反射させるとウェザー・チェックもうっすらと見えます。年式相応と言えるでしょう。また、ナットが牛骨製のやや高めの物に交換されています。指板に接する部分に欠けが確認できますが、実用に支障はありません。ヘッドの裏にステッカーが貼られていたような痕があります。付属のハード・ケースにカワセ楽器のプレートが張ってあることから、ヘッドには同店のステッカーが貼られていたのかもしれません。ケースは純正品ですが、残念ながら外装のダメージが著しいです。
近年のビルダー物の洗練されたリゾネーター・ギターとは異なる、ドブロらしい素朴なサウンドが魅力。ジョッシュ・グレイブス・スタイルや、70年代のアメリカのシンガー・ソングライター的なサウンドにマッチするトーンと言えるでしょう。お求めやすい価格です。ブルーグラス・ドブロ入門者の方にもお勧めの一本。
