We are pleased to announce the arrival of a used 1989 Made in USA Westerly factory model.

Spruce top Mahogany side back One piece Mahogany neck with beautiful rosewood fingerboard
Snake headstock Chesterfield logo Original Grover machine head
Large pickguard, horned down belly bridge, and a dignified demeanor.

In the late 80s and early 90s, Guild completely overhauled its line of acoustic guitars to bring back the quality and craftsmanship associated with its heyday in the 50s and 60s, establishing a sound with a difference.
The company has been working with renowned vintage guitar dealer and expert George Gruhn, consulting with him on vintage guild guitars and trying to recapture that sound.

Unlike the models from around the 70's, which are specially popular in Japan, the weight is not as heavy, the percussive sound is a little smoother, and the
The percussive sound has been smoothed out a bit and the scalloped bracing has also been adopted, giving the impression that the sound has changed to fit more with the modern sound.

The original parts remain, and the changed part is probably the nut.
The paint film shows some color burn and weather checking due to age.
The neck is slightly swollen at the top, but the saddle and nut have been adjusted to maintain a string height of 2.5mm on the 6th string side.

80 年代後半から 90 年代前半にかけて、ギルドは 50 年代と 60 年代の全盛期に関連した品質と職人技を取り戻すために、アコースティック ギターのラインナップを全面的に見直しており一味違ったサウンドを確立しました。
同社は、有名なヴィンテージ ギター ディーラーで専門家のジョージ・グルーンの協力を得て、ヴィンテージギルドギター音を相談し、そのサウンドを取り戻すため試行錯誤されております。

日本で特別人気な70年代頃のモデルとは違い、重さはそこまで無く、パーカッシブなサウンドは少し滑らかになり
スキャロップドブレーシングを採用したこともあってか、より現代の音にもフィットするようなサウンドに変化した印象を受けております。

オリジナルパーツが残っており、変更された箇所は恐らくナットだと思われます。
塗膜には経年による色焼けとウェザー・チェックの発生が見られます。
ネックは元起きとTOPがほんの膨らんでおりますが、サドルとナット調整をして6弦側の弦高2.5mmをキープしており
演奏には問題はなく素晴らしいプレイアビリティを確保しております。
