USED Gibson / RB-175 1964 [03]

The long-neck banjo essential for modern folk music!

The RB-175 is a long-neck version of the RB-170, an open-back 5-string banjo that was produced from 1962 to 1973. This particular guitar was made in 1964 and features the familiar 4-point headstock and pancake tuners of the standard Gibson guitars.
There is a chip on the butt end of the headstock, rust and tarnish on metal parts, dents, scratches, chipping and peeling of paint, and weather checks can be seen throughout, but it is generally commensurate with its age and age-related deterioration. The tailpiece, bridge, and tension hoop hooks have been replaced, and a 5-string slide capo has been installed.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been checked to 60 degrees in the tightening direction. The frets are worn, but there are no significant dents and about 70% of the fret height remains. Playability and sound are perfect.
The chipboard case that comes with the instrument appears to be of the same age as the instrument itself, and shows commensurate deterioration and damage. There is a CRAZY KEN'S SINDICATE sticker on the lid.
The open back gives a bright tone and a vintage depth of sound at the same time. The long neck is the most common type of banjo in modern folk music. If you are looking for one, don't miss it!
