PETE CORNISH ™ BATTERY-FREE CC-1™ -CORNISH CRUNCH WITH B/M/T ACTIVE TONE BOOST/CUT

A new crunch pedal that took more than a year to perfect. This CC-1™ is not based on an existing product, but is a completely new original design.

This pedal incorporates a two-stage fixed low-gain clipping circuit and a variable gain (up to +22dB) linear amplifier. This linear amplifier can compensate for the level of low output pickups or, if necessary, drive the clipping circuit connected behind it further.
The advantage of using two low-gain soft clipping circuits instead of hard diode clipping is that when the signal level drops below the respective clipping levels, it is virtually (and automatically) as if the clipping circuit has been removed from the audio path. In other words, the volume of the guitar drops. In other words, when the volume of the guitar drops, it is the same as if the two-stage clipping circuit had completely disappeared.

As the signal level increases by plucking the strings harder, the soft clipping gradually kicks in and begins to add harmonics. The stronger the signal, the more overtones are added, but the volume continues to increase because there is no function to suppress the signal output peaks. Thus dynamics are preserved and excellent musicality is obtained.

完璧を期するのに1年以上を要した新型クランチ・ペダル。本機CC-1™は既存製品をベースにしたものではなく、まったく新しいオリジナルデザインの製品です。

本機は、２段の固定式のローゲイン・クリッピング回路と可変ゲイン(最大+22dB)リニア・アンプを内蔵しています。このリニア・アンプは、低出力のピックアップのレベルを補ったり、必要であれば後ろに繋がるクリッピング回路をさらにドライブさせることができます。
ハードなダイオード・クリッピングではなく低ゲインのソフト・クリッピング回路を２段用いることの利点は、信号レベルがそれぞれのクリッピングするレベル以下に下がったときに、音声経路から事実上(かつ自動的に)クリッピング回路が無くなったのと同じ動作になることにあります。言い換えると、ギターの音量が下がると完全に2段のクリッピング回路が消えてしまった状態と同じになるのです。

弦を強く弾くことにより信号レベルが高まるのにつれて、ソフト・クリップが徐々に効いて倍音を加え始めます。信号が強くなればなるほど倍音が増えますが、信号出力ピークを抑える機能はありませんので音量は上がり続けます。したがってダイナミクスは保たれて優れた音楽性が得られます。
