The D-41, which was introduced as a low-priced version of the D-45 after its reproduction began, has the rich tone of the D-45, but with the moderate volume of a D-28 equivalent that accompanies singing. It is known to have been used by Jerry Beckley, Dan Vogelberg, Tom Petty, Kazumasa Oda of Off Course, Yasuhiro Suzuki, and others in the United States. This particular instrument was made in 2001, featuring a low profile neck with 42.9mm nut width, non-forward shift brace, and Schaller Rotomatic pegs.
The body shows minor dings, shallow scratches and scuffs, light tarnishing of the plating on metal parts, and some dulling of the satin paint and light dents on the back of the neck, but there is no damage that is noticeable or affects playing comfort. Considering the age of the instrument, it has been handled with care. A strap pin has been retrofitted to the heel of the neck.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been checked to 60 degrees left and right. The frets have been rubbed and are approximately 80% high. Both playability and sound are perfect.
The tone is rich in overtones, well-balanced from high to low tones, and has a lustrous sustain. It can be used not only as an accompaniment for singing, but also for lead guitar and fingerstyle. This is one of our recommended guitars.

D-45の再生産開始後その廉価版として登場したD-41は、D-45譲りのリッチのトーンを持ちながら、D-28相当の歌に寄り添う適度なボリュームが魅力。アメリカのジェリー・ベックレー、ダン・フォーゲルバーグ、トム・ペティ、オフコースの小田和正、鈴木康博らが使用したことでも知られています。当個体はナット幅42.9mmのロー・プロファイル・ネック、ノン・フォワードシフト・ブレース、シャーラー・ロトマティック・ペグをフィーチャーした2001年製です。
ボディには小さな打痕、浅い引っ掻き傷や擦り傷、金属部品にはメッキの軽いくすみ、ネック裏にはサテン塗装の若干のてかりと軽度の凹み傷などが確認できますが、目立ったり、弾き心地に影響するダメージはありません。年式を考慮すれば丁寧に扱われてきたと言えるでしょう。ネック・ヒールにストラップ・ピンが後付けされています。
ネックの状態は適正で、トラス・ロッドは左右60度まで動作確認済です。フレットは擦り合わせ済で高さは8割前後残っています。演奏性、サウンドともに申し分ありません。
40番代らしい倍音豊かなトーン、高音から低音までバランスの良い鳴り、艶のあるサスティンが魅力。歌の伴奏はもちろん、リード・ギター、フィンガー・スタイルと幅広くお使いいただけるでしょう。お勧めの一本です。
