1966 Fender / PRECISION BASS CANDY APPLE RED is in stock!

This Precision was manufactured in 1966, a transitional year for Fender, with a second version of the transition logo affixed.

The metallic red color, with four layers of white, gold, red, and topcoat, was protected by over-lacquering in later years, and is still in beautiful condition. The entire neck has been overlaquered as well, and the wood is in excellent condition.

The over-lacquer is negatively evaluated from the viewpoint of preserving the originality, so we have kept the price low, but the quality of the instrument depends on the user's preference.

The instrument has been treated with care and has been repaired, including the aforementioned over-lacquer, and is believed to have been used and maintained in its current condition. The volume pot is the original Stackpole, the tone pot is a recent CTS, and the jack has been replaced with a recent one.

The pickups are hand-dated "66" and the two leads have been extended. The original pickguard is believed to have been a green guard, but has been replaced with a recent FENDER toteice.

The frets and nut have been replaced and are good as far as playability is concerned. While there are many changes, this is one for the player who wants to use a true vintage sound right now for immediate playability. Exquisite tone balance by the combination of gray bobbin and round board can only be achieved in the mid to late 60s. Considering the recent Custom Shop prices, this is a gem of a guitar that is a good candidate.

Includes a non-genuine, different year Fender Hardcase.

トランジションロゴのセカンドバージョンが貼付された、まさにフェンダー社の過渡期に当たる1966年製造のプレシジョン。

ホワイト、ゴールド、レッド、トップコートの4層にレイヤーされたこの年代ならではの、趣のあるメタリックレッドは、後年のオーバーラッカー処理により保護され、ダメージから守られていたため現状も美しい状態を保っています。同様にネック全体にもオーバーラッカーが施され木部は良好な状態です。

オーバーラッカーはオリジナル保持の観点から、ネガティブに評価されますので、価格は抑えて設定していますが、楽器としての良し悪しはお使いになる方の好みにも依るところだと思います。

これまで大事に扱われ前述のオーバーラッカー含め、補修されながら現状を保たせ使用してきたものと思われます。ボリュームポットはオリジナルのスタックポール、トーンポットは近年のCTS、ジャックも近年の物に交換されています。

ピックアップは手書きのデイト「66」が確認でき、2本のリード線は延長されています。オリジナルのピックガードはグリーンガードであったと思われますが、近年のFENDER製のトートイスに交換。

フレット、ナットが交換されており、プレイアビリティに関しては良好。変更点は多いながら、今すぐに真のビンテージサウンドを即戦力で使用したいプレーヤーの為の1本。グレイボビンとラウンドボードの組み合わせによる絶妙のトーンバランスは60年代中後期ならではもの。近年のカスタムショップの価格を考えると候補に入れてもよい珠玉の1本ですよね。
