"This is a 1979 Pre Earnie period STINGRAY!

The STINGRAY BASS is one of the three great masterpieces of electric bass guitar invented by Leo Fender.
The STINGRAY BASS inherits the quality of the classic models that have changed the history of music, such as the Precision Bass and the Jazz Bass.
The STINGRAY BASS was released as an electric bass for the new era, suitable for the end of the 70's, with an overwhelming range obtained by incorporating Leo's own specialty, electrical technology, into the instrument itself.

Active circuits, as they would later be called, became popular mainly among bass players, and from the early 1980s, many manufacturers began to actively adopt active circuits.
Needless to say, active circuits have become the norm for modern electric basses.

This model has been refinished to almost the same color as the original, but there is no discrepancy in the color, and there is no deterioration of the lacquer, which is often seen in this age.
A strap pin has been added to the back of the body on the 4th string horn.

The neck was not in good condition when it arrived at our shop, and we spent 3 months refretting, re-nutting, and refinishing the fingerboard so that playability is not an issue at this time.

The pots are 1377841 and are believed to be original but show solder modification, the preamp is a non-tar-resin treated type, and there are currently no problems with the electrical system including the pickups.

This famous machine was born in the late 70's and produced various famous recordings and performances.
The sharp and exhilarating sound of the Pre Earnie period is irreplaceable, and this is the true "Stingray".

Comes with original Ruckard tweed hard case.
