Bill Collings' desire for a cool and easy-to-handle guitar was fully incorporated into this model, the 290, which is made of mahogany for both the body and neck. The 290 produces a warm, sweet, fat, and glossy tone with a perfect balance. The volume control makes it a versatile guitar that adapts to sweet jazz, old-school rock, and modern rock all in one.

Normally equipped with a Jason Lollar P90, this guitar has been replaced with a Joe Barden Soapbar pickup. The tone is not only the tone of a soapbar PU, but also the tone demanded by recent music and the noise-free tone that is the hallmark of JBE.

The pickguard has been replaced with a tortoiseshell pattern, but the original black PG is also included. * There are no additional screw holes.

The pegs look like they have been replaced, but at the time of sale, there was a problem with the pegs and they were replaced as the originals by the authorized import agent. Therefore, we consider them to be original.

Overall, there are scratches, dents, and stains commensurate with the age of the instrument, but playability is good, including the truss rod.

クールで扱いやすいギターを、と言うビル・コリングス氏の思いが十分に入り込んだモデルである290。ボディ・ネックともにマホガニー材を使用しています。暖かく、甘太い艶のあるトーンを生み出し、絶妙なバランスで鳴り響きます。ヴォリューム・コントロールで甘いジャズも、オールド・スクールなロックも、現代のロックにも全て順応する万能なギターです。

通常であればJason Lollar製のP90が搭載されていますが、本機はJoe Barden Soapbar Pickupに交換されています。ソープバーPUの持つトーンだけでなく、近年の音楽に求められるトーン、またJBEの特徴であるノイズフリーを力点においたトーンと言え、まさにプレイヤーの音楽的な要求を十分に満たすことの出来るPUと言えます。

ピックガードはべっ甲柄に交換されていますがオリジナルのブラックPGも付属しています。* ネジ穴の増設などはございません。

ペグはよく見ると交換されているように見受けられますが販売当時、製品のペグに不具合があり、正規輸入代理店にてオリジナルとして交換されたという経緯がございます。ゆえにオリジナルとさせていただいております。

全体的には年式相応のキズや打痕、汚れなどございますがトラスロッド含めプレイアビリティは良好です。
