This is a super radic snare drum that was manufactured from the late 1950s until about 1963.
This one appears to have been manufactured in the early 1960s, and of course the badge is unserialized.

The main difference from the current 400 is that the shell is made of chrome over brass and the hoop is also made of brass hoop, which is brighter than the later aluminum-based 400.
The tone is brighter, fatter, and more voluminous.

It is a snare with a character that combines the lightness of RADIC with the fatness of RADIC.

The hoop seems to be original, but the caulking of the original switch has become much looser, and the lever is a little wobbly. However, the operation itself is currently working without any problems.

The sound itself is good enough, and it produces a very powerful sound.

This is a rare instrument that does not appear on the market very often these days.

1950年代終盤から1963年頃まで製造されていたスーパーラディックスネアドラムです。
こちらの個体は60年代初期の製造のようで、もちろんバッジはシリアルなしです。

現行の400と大きく異なる点は、シェルがクロームオーバーブラス製で、フープもブラスフープを採用しており、アルミ系の後の400よりも
音色も明るめでファットでボリューム感があるのが特徴的です。

そのファットなサウンドキャラクターからレコーディング等でも重宝され、ラディックの軽快さと骨太さを兼ね揃えたキャラクターのスネアです。

フープはオリジナルのようですが、オリジナルのスイッチのカシメがだいぶ緩めになっており、レバーがややグラついております。しかし、動作自体は現状問題なく使えております。

また数か所シェルの凹み等、年式相応の傷、汚れなど経年使用感はございますが、サウンド自体は十分良好、非常に迫力のあるサウンドを奏でます。
いわゆるプレイヤーズコンディションといったところですが、まだまだ十分お使いいただけます。
このところあまり出回らない貴重な1台です。
