This snare drum would have been produced in the 1920s and 30s.
The shell is made of brass and nickel plated including parts.
It has a 10-tension, high-grade specification for the time.
Formally, it is No.131, the predecessor of Gene Krupa Sound King.

The edge of the snare is folded over in two stages, as was typical of the snare of the time, a method unique to those days to increase the strength of the edge, and this structure produces a sound with sufficient volume and core that can be used even in the modern age.
The hoops and lugs are also made of nickel-plated brass, and the look and feel of the instrument is truly sublime.

Unfortunately, the bottom hook has been replaced with a pearl hook, but the bolt and top hook seem to be original.
The snappy is not as it was in those days, but the switch works fine, and it can still be used without any problems.

The brazenness of the brass core and the single flange hoop are unique to the single flange hoop.
The open, soft, and warm sound of the single flange hoop is a special feature, and while it has a delicate enough response, the slightly rough nuance is also attractive.

The sound is very delicate and responsive, but also has an appealing, slightly rough-hewn nuance. Considering its age, it is in good condition.
A snare that is nearly 100 years old and still in use is valuable not only for its antique value but also for the fact that it is still in use.
Not only is it valuable as an antique, but it also has a very good sound level, and is still more than capable of being used for many years to come.
Comes with a wooden hard case.

Size: 14x5 inches
Shell: Nickel over brass
Hoop/Tension: 10-tension brass single flange
Includes: Hard case
Product Rank: B: Fairly, scratches & signs of use, but no problems in normal use applications.
