USED Gibson / ES-335 PRO Cherry 1979 [10]

The ES-335Pro is equipped with the original open-type dirty fingers PU. 3pcs maple neck and large head are different from the current and popular 335s, but it reflects the needs of the time. The body has some scratches and scuffs.

There are scratches, scuffs, line scratches, and dents on the body. The pickguard has minor picking scratches throughout. The top of the body is dotted with small dents, scratches, and bumps, mainly around the perimeter. There are some cracks on the binding due to aging. Scratches and line scratches are concentrated around the strap pins at the end of the body, and the entire side of the body is dotted with scratches and line scratches. There are buckle scratches all over the body back, and there is a small paint reaction with the case lining at the lower perimeter. There are also some small paint peels around the area. The upper strap pin area has scratches and paint burns from the strap. There is also a line scratch on the upper left edge of the body back and a small paint chip on the 6th string side of the neck joint. The back of the neck is dotted with small dents, mainly in the low position, and there is a light pillow mark from a case on the 11th floor. The pegs have been replaced, and the mounting holes are still intact and there are washer marks on the top surface. There are some faint scratches on the top of the head from the tips of the strings. The front PU has been replaced with a stamped numbered one, and both PU escutcheons are slightly distorted downward. There are two extra mounting holes on the 6th string side of the rear PU escutcheon, but they are currently hidden and not visible.

The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen. There are no string marks on the frets and about 40-50% of the strings are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, there is no significant damage, although the PU and pegs have been replaced on the neck side. The front PU must have been toe-matched in power to the original Dirty Fingers. I can see why it was replaced. The replacement of the pegs must have also been done to keep the 60s style in mind. However, the original dirty fingers on the rear drive the guitar gritty and juicy, while the front is sweet and the contrast between the two is wonderful, making it a surprisingly useful spec! The maple neck is also a good match with the resilient response of the maple neck! The 70s models are very expensive these days, but this one is a bargain!
